The purpose of this policy paper is to define the SDC’s orientation and scope in the area of democratisation, decentralisation and local governance (DDLG). It is a normative document for the SDC and will serve as a reference for partner organisations, but also for relevant departments of the Federal Administration and the wider development community.

But I was not always a storyteller. In my previous life I studied political economy. I worked for an non-governmental organisation in Mali, for the United Nations Development Program in India and for the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Switzerland. I understand your daily challenge, I know the reality of organisations working at the local and global level.
The SDC thematic platform on Gender Equality offers relevant information on policies, tools and instruments, trainings and publications and is a virtual platform for knowledge sharing and joint learning for its members.
