World food production has to increase by 60% if it is to meet the demand of the world population in the year 2050. Likewise, the production of fibre and biomass as raw material for value chains in a green economy must increase. At the same time, agricultural production conditions are projected to become both harsher and more unpredictable in most parts of our world.More than ever, farmers need agricultural services such as access to finances, inputs, technology, insurances, market information and rounded rural advisory services to keep pace with changes that are happening at galloping speed. Digital revolution in agriculture will be part of the solution for these many challenges.Where are we with these digitalised services right now? What is still missing to make a real difference for smallholders? How to fit technology to old and new needs?
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to a learning event organised by SDC’s Global Programme Food Security (GPFS) to discuss these questions.A summary of the event will be shared on the A+FS Network Shareweb after the event has taken place.
