Health - Topics

The SDC's engagement in the area of health revolves around three main issues:

  1. Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) by ensuring the right to health for all and a coherent global health governance.

  2. Fight Communicable Diseases (CDs) with a focus on HIV/AIDS, malaria and other Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and simultaneously  prevent and control Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, cardio-vascular diseases, or cancer. Indeed, one of the most important influences on health are the so-called Determinants of Health (DoH) emphasizing the influence of social, economic and environmental factors on people’s health.

  3. Improve Sexual and Reproductive Health, promote sexual and reproductive health rights, and support the health of mothers, infants and young children.
