and
SECO Position Paper on Skills Development in Economic Development Cooperation
On 31 May 2017, SDC director Manuel Sager presented the very first SDC strategy covering both, Basic Education and Vocational Skills Development. Representatives from SDC, SECO, the Swiss civil society and educationalists emphasised the relevance and timeliness of the strategy. They also stressed the need for additional implementation guidance, in particular at the interface between VSD and other e+i topics.
At the same event the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO presented a position paper that explains SECO's approach to skills development within its economic development cooperation.
More guidance with regards to SDC program implementation for VSD projects will be given to HQ and Field staff during the e+i network meeting on 4 July (live streaming will be available).
