Katalyst

The Katalyst project tackles rural poverty with an M4P approach. Its aim is to stimulate pro-poor growth by improving the competitiveness of selected sectors in which the poor participate (e.g. vegetable, maize, fish, prawn, potato); it covers most districts of the country. The project is co-funded by SDC, UK Department for International Development (UKaid), Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands (EKN). Implementation is done by Swisscontact and GIZ International Services.

Samriddhi

The Samriddhi project combines the M4P approach with a Human and Institutional Development (HID) approach and aims at poor and extreme poor men and women making use of enhanced employment and income generating opportunities. Market development focuses on 11 pro-poor value chains in the fields of medicinal plants, fish, vegetables, fruit, milk, poultry, beef, goat, cotton, jute and plant crafts. The project is implemented in Rajshahi Division and Sunamganj District by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation.

Laos

Northern Region Sustainable Livelihoods through Livestock Development Project

The project's aim is to improve livestock productivity and profitability under integrated upland farming systems. It is expected that village livestock production systems are enhanced, community resources mobilized and local as well as governmental capacities strengthened. The project is implemented in six northern provinces and is co-financed by ADB, SDC, IFAD and the Government of Lao PDR.

Pakistan

Livelihoods programme (LP)

Applying a livelihood approach, the LP supports people in improving their livelihood strategies based on their potentials and with concrete means to reduce their vulnerabilities caused by various factors such as natural disasters. LP builds local capacities and service delivery systems around specific resources (products or value chains) in the North West Frontier Province. It is implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation.
