Active participation in the thematic consultation prior to the Global F2F Event of e+i and CEP in 2019

The Global SDC Face-to-Face (F2F) event of the e+i network and the Competence Centre on the Engagement with the Private Sector (CEP) will take place 6-9 May 2019 in Solothurn, Switzerland. In November, the e+i focal point and the Competence Centre for Engagement with the Private Sector (CEP) invited SDC e+i network members and EPS Pioneers to participate in an online thematic consultation. The objective was to get to know the thematic and methodological interests in order to design an attractive F2F programme. The thematic consultation was launched jointly with the education network as the F2F event of the Education network (7-10 May 2019) will be back-to-back with the e+i F2F. Over 60 respondents used the opportunity to share their views through the thematic consultation with the following findings:

  1. The topic of Youth Employment is of utmost interest for SDC staff working on PSD, FSD, VSD and EPS.

  2. All proposed topics related to Engagement with the Private Sector (EPS) – such as the EPS FormatFinder or the EPS Strategy review – raised much interest among survey respondents.

  3. Other favourite topics include: Women’s Economic Empowerment including Women’s Financial Inclusion, Cost-Benefit Analysis and New Technologies.

As part of the thematic consultation, respondents also shared success cases and challenges regarding “Impact@Scale”, which will be the main theme of the event. Last but not least, many respondents offered to actively contribute with expertise and experience during the F2F event. The e+i focal point and the CEP are thus looking forward to further concretizing the various inputs in the coming weeks. The invitations for the Global F2F event will be sent to SDC staff in mid-January.
