Climate, environment and DRR mainstreaming

Welcome to the SDC Climate, DRR and Environment Network. The Network brings together a community of practitioners and experts from the SDC and partner organisations. This Shareweb is the common space of the Climate, DRR & Environment Network to share knowledge and information, foster exchange of experiences, best practices, and tools.


The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 is the first major agreement of the post-2015 development agenda and aims at reducing and preventing disaster risks worldwide. It sets the priorities of the international community for DRR under the responsibility of Member States and society as a whole. Switzerland actively supported the drafting of the framework that shapes the SDC’s engagement in DRR.	The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is recognized by the UN Assembly as the global multi-stakeholder forum to review progress on the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. The seventh session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction 2022 (GP22) took place from May 23-28 in Bali, Indonesia. Membership is almost universal. SDC actively participates in the climate change negotiations, with a focus on loss and damage, a topic at the nexus of climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction and humanitarian aid.
