Private Sector and Migration

Private sector actors play an increasingly important role in addressing migration related challenges and in harnessing the benefits of migration. They act as service providers, as employers and job creators for migrants and forcibly displaced persons, support governments in governing migration and have important leverage in influencing migration-related policies. This newsletter provides an overview of how private sector actors can engage in different stages of the migration cycle and what needs to be considered to foster meaningful and functioning partnerships with business.

It iden​tifies the roles of the different state and non-state actors when the private sector is interacting with migrants and refugees along the migration cycle.
