The guidelines substantiate the principles of the Swiss Foreign Policy Strategy 2020−23 and the International Cooperation Strategy 2021−24 in relation to the foreign policy thematic priority of water. The structure is framed by the five key objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership.

​​GPW Programme Framework 2021-24

The framework outlines the commitment and engagement of the Global Programme Water (GPW) for 2021–24. The structure is framed along four components: 1 "Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for People", 2) "Water, Planet and Prosperity", 3) "Water and Peace", and 4) "Water Voices".

​​Project Portfolio 2​​​023

The portfolio contains 1-page factsheets for all currently ongoing Section Water (SW) projects. It substantiates the way the SW wants to contribute to the overall goal of supporting inclusive systemic changes towards a water-secure world where people have the capacity to safeguard sustainable access to adequate quantities of acceptable quality water in order to sustain livelihoods, human wellbeing, and socio-economic development.​

​​Blue Peace Initiative

Blue Peace​​​​​​​ is an innovative initiative and key element of SDC's engagement in the water sector. It aims at developing a constructive attitude in order to allow transboundary water to become a vector for peace, stability and prosperity rather than tensions and conflicts - particularly in water scarce or contested regions such as the Middle East and Central Asia.
