Oxfam report ‘Public good or private wealth’ published

January 2019 / Stephanie Guha, Poverty Reduction and Social Development Adviser, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)

In time for the start of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Oxfam publishes its latest report ‘Public good or private wealth?’ highlighting the growing gap between the rich and the poor.

Oxfam points out that the super-rich have become even richer while still hundreds of millions of people live in extreme poverty. Transforming our economies is necessary to make public services available to all. A fair share of taxation of the wealthiest should help to pay the costs.
