- A good gender reporting
starts with the planning of the project. If gender issues were not integrated in the cooperation strategies and other planning documents of a project, it gets difficult to report on gender results in the reporting phase.
- There is a
lack of understanding by partners and colleagues of what gender results are. One officer reported, that it is often seen by partners only in terms of equal participation between men and women. Often, gender-issues are seen as an add-on instead of as an integral part of every project. More investment into the explanation of this might be needed.
-
Continuous effort from the gender responsible is necessary to get partners and colleagues to integrate gender issues from the planning phase of a project onto the reporting of results. For example, one programme officer reported in the webinar that he is in a constant process of sensitization during conversations with colleagues, as well as encouraging management to integrate gender issues. There is a constant need on part of the programme officer to actively ensure that gender equality is integral to the project.
- The
implementation of research results into projects is an ongoing challenge. There is a number of concrete recommendations elaborated in
the Report on Effectiveness on the Swiss international cooperation in the field of gender equality 2007-2016 .
