In 2015 there were two joint E-Discussions among two different SDC-networks around Gender & Finances, the Gendernet as well as the Democratisation, Decentralisation and Local Governance Network (DDLGN). In May there was a stock-take on GENDER and FISCAL DECENTRALISATION. This exchange focused on the gender dimension in intergovernmental fiscal transfer schemes. Given this theme is a ‘frontier topic’ with limited conceptual development and references to country cases, the consultation was framed as a ‘stock-take’ with the aim to build up a first information base. This first E-Discussion on Gender & Fiscal Decentralisation was followed by a second one on GENDER and TAXATION in September. This discussion focused on the gendered impacts of tax policy and tax administration. The potential methods of engagement for development partners was discussed as a cross-cutting topic.
