EPS projects provide access to new knowledge, generate innovation, and mobilise additional resources. They also enlarge the range of partners for the SDC, by including for example small- and medium-sized enterprises, local companies and multinationals, foundations and financial institutions.
EPS projects can take various forms, including services, the provision of financial resources, expertise and innovation. The private sector contribution does not necessarily need to be of monetary nature. The SDC determines the appropriate approach to collaborate with the private sector according to the objective it intends to achieve.
