The employment and income (e+i) network seeks to enhance the effectiveness of SDC’s contribution to the Millennium Development Goals through measures that create employment and income for the poor. The network provides a knowledge exchange platform for learning and support for all development professionals with links to the work of SDC in the area of employment and income.
The e+i network follows SDC’s overall strategic orientation for employment and income: (i) a systemic approach; (ii) pursue economic as well as social and ecological sustainability; (iii) work in multistakeholder set-ups: private sector as engine, state as regulator, facilitator, and civil society as advocate; (iv) focus on rural areas and link with urban dynamics.
