Integrated Disaster Risk Management For A Resilient World

More than 55 million people worldwide have fled their homes, including 20 million because
of natural disasters and climate change. A paradigm shift that moves us away from responding
to natural disasters to taking preventive action is needed because  an increase in natural risks
can be expected. This video briefly explains why integrated disaster risk management approach
which Switzerland advocate's can contribute to a more resilient world.

Good land management to reduce disasters in Tajikistan

Exchanging knowledge and jointly develop strategies helps to improve land management. In this video six land users in Tajikistan explain and demonstrate the benefits of good land management. Through different SLM practices they protect themselves and their environment from disasters, reduce land degradation and increase production on their lands. The video was produced for broadcasting on several Tajik TV channels.

La Suisse a mis en oeuvre un projet visant à la protection des habitants et des infrastructures de la ville de Fès, des zones périurbaines et de la plaine du Gharb.

„Water runs deep" was produced in Cochabamba, Bolivia, a city made tragically famous by its „water war" of the year 2000. Today in 2013 water is scarcer than ever.Its use and distribution causes multiple and sometimes violent conflicts. The documentary highlights the need for innovative forms of dialogue and agreements in water management. ​Evidences of a Resilient Development

In Bolivia, natural disasters affect 350'000 persons and cause economic
losses of 450 million dollars US per year. In 2013 the Swiss Agency for
Development and Cooperation entrusted Geonex with the production of
a documentary destined to Bolivian municipal governments. The aim
was to contribute to a "culture of preparedness". Geonex produced the
documentary in Bolivia with the support of a local crew. Spanish
interviews subtitled in English, 25 minutes.
