BECOME A MEMBER: membership criteria & IT FDFA shareweb account

SDC DRR network members are interested SDC staff and its implemeting partners working in the field of DRR with a rich experience in DRR, motivated to share insights and interested in learning from peers.

As a SDC partner, please send your membership request to sdcdrrnetwork@eda.admin.ch with a short message indicating i) your partnership with SDC and ii) your motivation.

Once registered as a member, you will receive our newsletter four times a year and be able to share your news. 

SDC staff, with a @eda.admin email address,  do not need to create an IT account. You can directly share your news!

For the others, once you are a member of the SDC DRR Network you will be able to directly share information and upload publications on the Platform after creating your IT FDFA shareweb account by following those two easy steps:

1) create first your IT FDFA shareweb account: If you are not yet registered with FDFA Sharewebs, please click here. 

2) inform us that you have created an IT FDFA account by sending an email to sdcdrrnetwork@eda.admin.ch

YOUR ROLE AS A MEMBER

1) Share your knowledge and experience on the Platform!

You can share your knowledge and upload documents by selecting the top menu "Share your knowledge..." or by clicking here.

What can you share? 

- News, articles or publications on DRR that you consider relevant for the Network;

- Information on DRR-related SDC funded projects / programs that the Network should know about; any type of document, which is related to a SDC (co-)funded project, a type of activity, a sector of mainstreaming or a DRR-related topic can easily be uploaded 

- Upcoming events you consider interesting for the Network members.

Once an information is uploaded, SDC DRR Network will review it and publish it. If you wish to gain the admin rights to be able to publish yourself as well as other features such as registering a DRR project, contact sdcdrrnetwork@eda.admin.ch  so that we can grant you the access. 

 

2) Promote awareness and action within your network

How ?

- Become knowledgeable about the risk of disasters in the regions where your entity is working .

- Get an overview of the new planning foreseen in your division (SDC) or organisation (partners)! Are there new strategies, programmes or projects in the pipeline? Are there phases to be renewed?

- Motivate your colleagues and the head of your entity to look at your organisation's work with a DRR lens! To be risk smart, get familiar with CEDRIG online tool!  CEDRIG "Climate, Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction Integration Guidance"  is an user-friendly and interactive online tool aiming at facilitating risk and impact assessment of project, programme or strategy of SDC and its partners in order to ensure that relevant humanitarian and development activities are designed with due consideration of climate, environment and disaster-related risks and impacts.
