2 Learning Events on Data for Development and Statistical Capacity

Dear network members

We would like to draw your attention to two events organised by the colleagues from the focal point "aid effectiveness", which might interest you:

1st LEARNING EVENT May 31 10-12.30 CET: Overview of the Swiss engagement, what approaches does SDC use in the area of Data and Statistics, collecting lessons learned.  Examples: (1) Support to countries statistical systems and capacities: Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) and Albania: Strong Municipalities. (2)Data in support of social accountabilityTanzania: Social Accountability. (3) Strengthen evidence-based policy and support to normative data: Lao DECIDE – K4D Global Program Water: Integrated Monitoring of Water and Sanitation related SDG targets (GEMI); Global Program Food Security: RIICE 

 

2nd LEARNING EVENT: June 14 10-12.30 CET

Looking forward: Data as key element of LNOB, working with partners and opportunity for support, overall learnings. Data and “Leave no one behind"  - Introduction and experiences from Benin. Panel: our Partners in Data for Development: Swiss Federal Statistical Office,  Paris 21 and Clearing House, OECD DAC D4D, Development Initiative, multilateral Partners. Closing discussion: Data for the development in the age of digitalization – opportunities – challenges.
