Local Governance Assessment

The Learning Project “Local Government Assessment” is based on the initiative that started at the F2F meeting in New Delhi in 2009 and has the main purpose of developing a roster of Local Governance Assessment tools that serve beneficiaries (i.e. local stakeholders), implementers and SDC to inform about governance results (successes and shortcomings) and to provide mutual learning and information for future action. It is also envisaged that the results of the assessment serve as a baseline on governance issues. The LP prepared five case studies from South Africa, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Nicaragua, Bangladesh and Afghanistan together with a synthesis paper.
The roster was further discussed and developed at the F2F in Sarajevo in 2011.
