Day 3: RESULTS

Day 3: RESULTS

Once strategies are implemented, we need to measure their impact. The first input on day 3 introduces the findings from the  learning project on outcome measurement in local governance programs. One innovative way to measure outcomes is by using  empowering visual methods.

The entire afternoon participants could sit down at several roundtables and interact with Egyptian stakeholders on a variety of governance issues. – Finally, something for your eye: VIDEO/PHOTO IMPRESSIONS & TWEETS.

Learning project on outcome measurement in local governance programs

The goal of the learning project is to look at a selected number of case studies and draw lessons from them in regard to outcome measurement. The results from this exercise should serve as a basis for further reflection. The study shows that measuring outcomes goes far beyond the mere tracing of project results. Thus it is worth exploring new ways of doing things.

You can download the final recommendations and the different case studies on which recommendations were drawn here. The video provides some insight into how the study was conducted, and how its findings are relevant for development organizations. A few reactions from participants can be found here.

Listening to stakeholders: Using Empowering Visual Methods

Using empowering visual methods is one innovative way to measure outcomes. This approach collects opinions from project beneficiaries and stakeholders by giving them the opportunity and means to express themselves through a photo or video story. The video gives you the main reasons why and how to use this method. It is complemented with reactions from participants. You can read more reactions from participants here.
