Dear Visitor, in May 2013 members of the Decentralization and Local Governance Network of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC met in Aswan, Egypt, to talk about their experience in working on development projects related to governance, decentralization and democratization.

This blog documents the event. You can browse through the report in two ways:

• The PROGRAM is a good way to find what you are looking for if you have been a workshop participant and you want to revisit this particular day. All the relevant documents can be accessed directly from within the program tab.
• You can also browse the blog by thematic focus: on day 1 the ever-changing CONTEXT has been at the heart of the discussions. Once you have analyzed the context you move on to draw-up your STRATEGY (day 2). Day 3 focused on how to measure and show RESULTS when working on governance projects that tend to be process heavy with little or no physical results to show on the ground (f.ex. infrastructure). Day 4 focused on the FUTURE orientation of the network.
