Triple Nexus

​The learning journey (LJ) on the triple nexus – humanitarian aid, development cooperation and peace policy (HDP) - was conducted as a joint initiative by the Peace, Governance and Equality (PGE) Cluster under the lead of the Fragility, Conflict and Human Rights (FCHR) Unit. The aim of the LJ was to develop a common understanding of the triple nexus for Swiss Interna​​tional Cooperation, to assess the benefits of the nexus approach and to identify conducive factors for its implementation, as well as to clarify the peace component. It took place between August 2020 and September 2021 and consisted of a State of the Art Report, 65 interviews with FDFA staff and senior management, interviews with nine Swiss NGOs, as well as four thematic and sectoral workshops. The findings of the learning journey were summarized in a Synthesis Report that puts forward recommendations on how to better implement nexus approaches.
