CGIAR – Consultative Group for Agricultural Research
CGIAR is a global partnership that unites international organizations engaged in research about food security. Its aim is to reduce rural poverty, increase food security, improve human health and nutrition, and sustainable management of natural resources.

FAO – Food and Agriculture Organization
The FAO is the leading organization in international efforts to defeat hunger and improve nutrition and food security.

GAIN - Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition
GAIN is a foundation developed by the UN and supported by over 30 donors. Its actions include improving the consumption of nutritious and safe foods for all.

IFAD – International Fund for Agricultural Development
The IFAD is an international financial institution and specialized agency of the UN for addressing poverty and hunger in rural areas.

ILC - International Land Coalition
The ILC is a global alliance of civil society and farmers' organizations, United Nations' agencies, NGOs and research institutes. Its mission is to "promote secure and equitable access to and control over land for poor women and men through advocacy, dialogue, knowledge sharing and capacity building".

SUN Movement - Scaling Up Nutrition
SUN, is a country-led Movement committed to the understanding that good nutrition is the best investment of the future. The political leaders of SUN countries agree to engage all sectors of central and local governments in efforts to improve nutrition.

WFF - World Food Forum
The WFF is an independent, youth-led global network of partners facilitated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

WFP – World Food Programme
The WFP is the world’s largest humanitarian organization providing food assistance worldwide. It is an international organization within the UN.

CFS – Committee on World Food Security
The CFS is an intergovernmental body that serves as a forum in the United Nations System for review and follow-up of policies concerning world food security including production and physical and economic access to food.

GDPRD – Global Donor Platform for Rural Development
The GDPRD is a network of 40 bilateral and multilateral donors, international financing institutions, intergovernmental organizations, foundations, and development agencies. It brings together donors that believe the best way to tackle global poverty and hunger is to develop agriculture, reshape food systems, and invest in rural communities.

BFH-HAFL - School of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences
The HAFL is a department of the Bern University of Applied Sciences. It offers studies in agriculture, forest and food sciences, and it provides applied research, services and continuing education programmes in these areas.

Bioversity
Bioversity International is a global research-for-development organization that delivers scientific evidence, management practices and policy options to use and safeguard agricultural biodiversity to attain global food and nutrition security, working with partners in low-income countries in different regions where agricultural biodiversity can contribute to improved nutrition, resilience, productivity and climate change adaptation.

Helvetas
Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation is an independent Swiss development organization that focuses on capacity-building of disadvantaged people and communities in rural regions. The focus is on basic needs such as drinking water, food security, education and income generation.

Swissaid
Swissaid is a foundation active in the poorest, mostly rural regions of developing countries. It focuses on self-help projects in the areas of food security through agro-ecological farming, the promotion of women, access to water and support for civil society.

CABI – Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International
CABI is a non-profit intergovernmental development and information organization focusing primarily on agricultural and environmental issues in the developing world, and the creation, curation, and dissemination of scientific knowledge. Their work focuses on loss of crops caused by pests and diseases, invasive weeds and pests that damage farm production and biodiversity, and lack of global access to scientific research.

FiBL – Forschungsinstitut für biologischen Landbau
The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture, is an organic farming information and research centres. As an independent and non-profit organization, it promotes research and projects that help farmers improve their productivity with consideration of environmental and health impacts.

ICIPE – International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology
ICIPE is an international scientific research institute, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya that works towards improving lives and livelihoods of people in Africa. The center’s main objective is to research and develop alternative and environmentally friendly pest and vector management strategies that are effective, selective, non-polluting, non-resistance inducing, and which are affordable to resource-limited rural and urban communities.

WOCAT - World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies
WOCAT is a global network on Sustainable Land Management (SLM) that promotes the documentation, sharing and use of knowledge to support adaptation, innovation and decision-making.

APREBES – Association for Plant Breeding for the Benefit of Society
APREBES is an association founded by seven civil society organisations from developing and industrialized countries for promoting plant breeding for the benefit of society, fully implementing farmer’s rights to plant genetic resources and promoting biodiversity.

CIFOR - Center for International Forestry Research
CIFROR is a non-profit scientific research organization that conducts research on the use and management of forests with a focus on tropical forests in developing countries.

GFRAS - Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services
GFRAS is made up of various stakeholders worldwide who have an interest and role in rural advisory services. Its mission is to provide advocacy and leadership on pluralistic, demand driven rural advisory services.

GLTN - Global Land Tool Network
GLTN is a dynamic and multi-sectoral alliance of international partners contributing to poverty alleviation through increased access to land and tenure security for all.

ISSD Africa - Integrated Seed Sector Development in Africa
ISSD Africa is an international community of practice, supporting seed sector transformation and innovation on the African continent

YPARD is an international movement for young professionals. The ECI has an internationally-recognised track record in food systems research, with special emphasis on the interactions with environmental change. Key strengths include using a food systems lens for research and training on food security issues, and developing research partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders including business, policy, development agencies, NGOs and academia at large.

Wageningen Food Sciences and Technology Cluster

The future of food and agriculture (FOFA)
FOFA is an FAO series that portrays long-term analyses of food and agricultural systems within the social and economy-wide context and recent global trends and alternative future scenarios to analyse possible pathways of food and agricultural systems

The State of Food and Agriculture (SOFA)
The State of Food and Agriculture aims at bringing to a wider audience balanced science-based assessments of important issues in the field of food and agriculture. Each edition of the report contains a comprehensive, yet easily accessible, overview of a selected topic of major relevance for rural and agriculture development and for global food security.

The State of Food Security in the World (SOFI)
The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World is an annual flagship report jointly prepared by FAO, IFAD, UNICEF, WFP and WHO to inform on progress towards ending hunger, achieving food security and improving nutrition and to provide in depth analysis on key challenges for achieving this goal in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

CFS HLPE reports
The HLPE-FSN studies are the result of a continuous dialogue between HLPE-FSN experts and a wide range of stakeholders, whether public, private or from the civil society, and knowledge holders across the world, combining different forms of knowledge, building bridges across regions and countries, as well as across various scientific disciplines and professional backgrounds, and following a rigorous scientific peer review process.

Global Diet Quality Report
The Global Diet Quality Report outlines a new approach for monitoring diet quality worldwide and highlights nationally representative findings for 41 countries from the 2021 Gallup World Poll.

UNFSS National Pathways
The National Pathways are the outcome of the UN Food Systems Summit 2021 Dialogues. These can serve as points of reference across government and for all stakeholders in coming years.

Global Hunger Index (GHI)
The GHI is a tool that attempts to measure and track hunger globally as well as by region and by country, prepared by European NGOs of Concern Worldwide and Welthungerhilfe. The GHI is calculated annually, and its results appear in a report issued in October each year.

The Food System Dashboard (GAIN)
The Food Systems Dashboard combines data from multiple sources to give users a complete view of food systems. Users can compare components of food systems across countries and regions. They can also identify and prioritize ways to sustainably improve diets and nutrition in their food systems.

The Food Systems Recommendations Database (GDPRD)
This database was developed by the GDPRD to collate and summarize recommendations from key international reports and meetings related to food systems and rural development.

ACELI
ACELI Africa is a market-led platform to catalyse finance for credit-constrained East African agricultural businesses that offer potential for income and job creation. Special incentives are provided for investments promoting food security, nutrition, climate-smart production, as well as for those with a gender and youth inclusive approach.

African Risk Capacity
The African Risk Capacity (ARC) is an early disaster response and risk transfer system of the African Union to enhance the resilience of vulnerable people against drought, tropical cyclone, flood and mortal viruses through country-level insurance.

CROPS4HD – Consumption of Resilient Orphan Crops & Products for Healthier Diets
CROPS4HD seeks to improve food security and nutrition of smallholder farmers, especially women, through sustainable use and conservation of farmers’ varieties/landraces, neglected and underutilized species respecting agroecological approaches.

Nutrition in City Ecosystems (NICE)
NICE aims to improve nutrition and health, and to reduce poverty by increasing the demand and supply of diverse, agroecologically produced foods. Implemented by a Swiss public private consortium, NICE focuses on women, youth and vulnerable populations. City governments in two secondary cities each in Bangladesh, Kenya and Rwanda will be supported, and learning between cities will be facilitated to contribute to the global discourse on sustainable food systems.

RUNRES
RUNRES seeks to improve the resilience and sustainability of food systems in four different rural-urban regions across Africa. It encourages nutrient & waste recycling by installing and redirecting the by-products of innovative, ecological, hygienically safe sanitation solutions. The organic matter may then serve as an input for smallholder producers to generate a circular flow of nutrients in agriculture, thereby reinvigorating regional food systems and improving livelihoods of growing populations.

SSNUP – Smallholder Safety Net Upscaling Programme
SSNUP is a multi-donor public private partnership to support small and medium agribusiness enterprises, farmer organisations and financial intermediaries in providing effective services to their smallholder farmer customers and members, thereby reducing their farm and livelihood risks.

Systems Comparison
This long-term system comparison led by the Swiss Research Institute for Organic Agriculture provides scientific evidence on the productivity, profitability and environmental impacts of organic agriculture compared to conventional agriculture in four production systems of the tropics.
